When I realized the lesson were going to be an hour and a half each without a break, I was a bit nervous. But as it turned out, the classes were so engaging that the time flew by. Valentino, by the way, is in my opinion a fantastic teacher.

Pino, here is just a quick note to tell you how much we enjoyed our group Italian lessons this February/March in the library with Alessandro. Alessandro taught free-style (it was up to the student how much they learned) with a sense of humour and dedication. His lessons were infused with real-life anecdotes from Italy which we put into context on our recent trip to Rome, and he never tired of answering our questions. We can honestly say that tutorino's language lessons enhanced our experience in Italia (we were able to direct non-english-speaking taxi drivers, get information on train schedules, order entire meals, ask for directions when we were lost and make sense of signage). We are grateful for your program and for Alessandro for being such a competent teacher.

I should have written a while ago...did not have time. I wanted to let you know how awesome Tina was to my three daughters and me. She and her husband welcomed us into their home as if we were family. It was just unfortunate that my kids were getting swamped with school and part-time jobs that we could not continue the Italian tutoring.

We are back from our glorious time in Sicily. What an incredibly beautiful place ---- and so different from any other part of Italy that I have seen.

We invoked your name many times on our holiday. So often we found ourselves using things you had taught us, and all realised how much we had actually learned. I was particularly aware of how much easier it was for me to "hear": I understood so much more than ever before and was really able to get the directions, respond to questions etc. It was quite amazing! I think you would have been proud of us.

I will tell you there was one restaurant where we could not interpret a single thing on the menu since it was all in Sicilian --- it really is a different language! Even carcofi has a different name. We still managed to eat huge quantities of wonderful food, drink lots of excellent wine and limoncello, see many spectacular sights, drive like Italians and laugh every day under the warm Sicilian sun. What more could we ask for?

Thanks to you for all your patience with us. It really did make a difference on our wonderful Italian adventure.

Having just returned from 2 weeks in Italy, I can personally vouch for the huge difference it makes to take the time to learn the language. Not only does it facilitate your life when you're asking for directions (which happens often as you're travelling around), but the general response you get from the people is unparalleled. The Italians are already very warm people, but when they realize that you have learned their language, they are incredibly touched.

I found your programme extremely useful. I had studied Italian before, but never had the opportunity to practice one-on-one with a knowledgeable native Italian speaker who could listen to me, correct my mistakes in a useful and friendly way, and engage in conversation. I had my last session with Laura on Friday and I have to say I was very pleased with the service you offer. I found the sessions very useful – hopefully learned some useful vocabulary but more important, they were such a great opportunity to hear the words spoken in Italian. I like one on one tutoring so much more than classes because you get much more opportunity to speak and to respond directly to questions, statements etc.

I found Laura very accommodating to what I wanted to learn, practice etc. with a very pleasant, friendly manner.

Altogether a really worthwhile investment and one I would recommend to others.

My experience with Tutorino has been a very positive one. I found the one-on-one tutoring an extremely helpful way to learn and understand the Italian language. The teacher was very patient with my slow progress - especially with some of the grammer. The lesson handouts were very informative and CD's were helpful to listen to between lessons.

I also ejoyed the first excursion in Toronto at the Terroni restaurant. What a wonderful way to get to know other people who have a similar interest in things Italian!

We are in our seventh week of Italian lessons with Tutorino. We have been very pleasantly surprised in so many ways. The lessons are well designed. Our teacher Sabrina is excellent. The courses are very good value, very reasonably priced. And Pino is dedicated to supporting us through the Tutorino web site content and has given personal attention to our emails.

Learning Italian is a lot of hard work, no doubt about it. We spend at least 1 hour per day at it. The analogy of hiring a personal trainer is very apt in this case. The personal trainer can tell you what exercises to do, and assess how well you are doing, but you have to put in the time and effort at the gym to get results!

We are enjoying the challenge, and we have started trying to understand Italian TV programs (on TLN and Rai). Some programs can even be seen online on the Rai.it web site. We have also started reading Italian magazines. It takes a lot of concentration and our understanding is minimal at this stage, but it's growing quickly enough to motivate us to keep it up. Hard work, but great fun if you have the right attitude!!

Bravo Tutorino! We'd recommend Tutorino to anybody who is serious about wanting to learn Italian.
